Celebrity Kids Celebrate Big for Birthdays
Everyone loves to celebrate their birthdays. For parents, we all want to show our kids how much they are loved on that one day each year that is especially for them. However, since celebrities tend to have more money at their disposal, they tend to make birthday bashes bigger and crazier than most of us can imagine. Below are some examples of birthday price tags you wouldn’t expect.
While we worry about getting goodie bags and making sure the cake is edible, we have parties at home or a bowling alley. For celebrity children, the bigger the bash the better, apparently. That is true even for birthdays the little one probably won’t have memories of in the years to come.
How about $100,000 for Tom Cruise’s daughter, Suri’s, 2nd Birthday?
When celebrating a sixth birthday, our priority might not be fresh flowers and catering done by a renowned chef. However, for Suri, nothing is too much. Her second birthday reportedly involved food by Wolfgang Puck, fresh flowers and even real butterflies. Meanwhile, the cake cost $5,000
That must have been something to remember – if you aren’t a two-year-old.
Food and Candy that Added up to $15,000?
Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani love their son, Kingston, so much that his fourth birthday was celebrated with a cotton candy machine, lemonade stand and even a variety of food that added up to a $15,000 price tag. More than 100 guests arrived to eat foods like fries, tacos, quesadillas, chicken fingers, burgers and hot dogs. Meanwhile, the kids got to experience balloon art and face painting, see superhero characters and live birds and play in a bouncy castle.
When a Tree House Costs More Than You Think
A location called the Tree House Social Club may not sound expensive, but the indoor play area has a rental price tag of around $2,500. Parties that have 50 guests include body glimmer, arts and crafts and popcorn. Nicole Richie is a fan, as she held her daughter, Harlow’s, third birthday at this club located in Los Angeles.
Custom Playhouse anyone?
If you are David and Victoria Beckham, your son deserves the best. For his sixth birthday, Brooklyn reportedly got a custom playhouse that cost $187,000. That is more than some people spend on a residence. At that price tag, maybe his playhouse came with its own butler.
Another Beckham Bash
Brooklyn’s sister, Harper, had a similar price tag for her first birthday. Yes, you read that right. When Harper turned ONE, the party cost $100,000 and involved pony rides, cupcakes, pink rabbits! and girly pink cuddly toys.
How Many Cakes Do You Need?
A first birthday party usually involves a cake for the guests and a smash cake for the little one. Or, if you are Ayden, son of Phaedra and Apollo from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, you apparently need 12 cakes for your first birthday celebration. He also celebrated at a water park.
Jungle Island to beat the Tune of $200,000?
Blue Ivy, daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z, had a second birthday party held at a wildlife park/botanical garden in Miami, Florida. That party must have had quite the price tag, considering for her first birthday, her parents paid $200,000.
Who Can Put a Price Tag on a Unicorn?
Apparently, Kourtney Kardashian can when it comes to her daughter, Penelope’s, first birthday. The party included balloons that cost $150 each – 30 of those – a horse dressed as a unicorn and a piglet. All of this was located at Kris Jenner’s Los Angeles mansion and was part of a garden party celebration for the tot.
Princesses and $20,000
When you are one of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s children, you may expect to get a great birthday party. That definitely worked out for daughter Zahara, who had a princess-themed birthday that cost her parents $20,000. That was a slight upgrade from her brother, Pax’s, seventh birthday celebration, which involved a luxury river cruise that cost $7,000 – and cake and balloons, of course.
Music and $300,000+ Birthday Gifts
Having Puff Daddy as your parent pays off when you are 16. His son, Justin, got a $360,000 Maybach and performances by Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Trey Songz, G-Dep and Juelz Santana.
Extravagant Birthdays Happen Across the Pond As Well
While this may seem like a trend that only happens in the US, that simply isn’t true. A first birthday party for twins that live in England came out to around £70,000. It followed the theme of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. There was a full buffet, a huge Alice in Wonderland cake, props like sky-high mushrooms and special lighting effects. The festivities were held in the family garden, located in London.
As expensive as these children’s birthdays are, however, they have a little way to go to catch up with the most expensive birthday party ever thrown. So far, the Sultan of Brunei holds the record with $27.2 million spent to celebrate his 50th birthday.
